No need to be fogged in with this 658 combination bathroom heater/fan from Broan. With a rating of 70 CFM and 4.0 Sones, the ceiling unit not only removes excess moisture from the air, but it also heats the room, making it much more pleasant to get ready for work in the morning. The unit's ventilating fan function offers high-efficiency performance and quiet operation thanks to its two permanently lubricated plug-in motors, each powering the two individual blower wheels. As a 1300-watt heater, it generates a soothing temperature quickly and delivers even heat distribution throughout the room. An integrated damper prevents back drafts and unnecessary noise. Other highlights include adjustable, slotted mounting brackets that extend up to 24 inches for easy installation, a polymeric 4-inch round duct with a 2-inch-long tapered sleeve for effortless, positive ducting, and a design that fits 2-inch-by-6-inch ceiling construction. The combination unit is 15-amp circuit acceptable, type IC (insulation contact), and works with a model 68W or 68V two-function control (sold separately). As a thoughtful finishing touch, the unit's white polymeric grille, with its designer tiered style, nicely accommodates almost any decor. The heater/fan unit measures 14-1/4 inches long by 8-1/4 inches wide by 5-3/4 inches high and carries a one-year limited warranty.

Good replacement

I had a very old combination unit and used this one to replace what I had. It works well and looks good. It is a bit noisy, but that comes in handy when you want some "bathroom privacy"! It has wiring connections inside the unit which is nice for small spaces. It can also mount to a joist easily.

Works as advertised. Vent is 4 sones (loud) and the heater is even louder. The heater is much too big for a small (5X8) bathroom unless you don't have central heat.

Fan works well

The fan works well to ventilate (noisy but tolerable), but the heater is so noisy that we don't use it.
