The Nordic Pure MERV 12 anti-allergen pleated air filter is the ideal filter to reduce airborne contaminants in your home or business. With each pass through your MERV 12 anti-allergen pleated air filter, the air in your environment improves. This electrostatic air filter attracts and captures airborne dust, pollen, mold spores, pet dander, smog, dust mite debris, and baking flour. The MERV 12 anti-allergen pleated air filter is made of synthetic material that will not support the growth of mold and bacteria. Along with the reduction of dust on surfaces, this MERV 12 anti-allergen pleated air filter is a high efficiency filter that will attract and capture the small, allergy-aggravating micro-particles that can cause your family discomfort. The Nordic Pure anti-allergen pleated air filter has a Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value(MERV) of 12 which means that it will collect more than 90% of 3.0-10.0 microns of contaminants, and up to 90% of particles 1.0-3.0 microns. Particles in indoor air are measured in microns, which are 1/1000 of a millimeter. A human hair is about 70 microns wide. The MERV 12 anti-allergen pleated air filter is comparable to a filter with a MPR rating of 1500-1900 and is a great start to creating a healthy environment. I have been shopping for a MERV 11 or 12 or better filter for my air conditioning unit on Amazon, and narrowed it down to two competitive products:1) 3M Filtrete Micro Allergen Reduction Filters, 20x25x1 1000 MPR, 6-pack, $70.492) Nordic Pure 20x25x1 AC Furnace Air Filters MERV 12, Box of 6 (This product), $58.20In order to compare these products, I collected the following info for myself and for others that read my reviews:MERV stands for Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value. It is a number from a test method designed by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). The number is intended to help people compare filters. Generally speaking, a higher MERV rating indicates better filter performance. Filters with a merv rating of 9 to 12 are used in commercial and industrial applications and will stop particles in the 1 to 3 micron range. I was in the market to purchase some high-quality filters for the forced-air blower in my HVAC unit. I was hoping to find an "off brand" that provided high quality without the huge price tag of filters from 3M Filtrete.These definitely fit the bill. I don't have severe allergies, so I can't speak to whether or not they would help someone that is very sensitive to those sorts of things. I can say that they appear very well-made.I appreciated the indicator on the side that tells you which direction the air should be blowing through it.The filters appear to be well worth the money that Nordic Pure is charging. They shipped quickly and were packaged well.I am very pleased with my purchase and will be continuing to use these from now on.

I have switched from 3M which is very pricey. 3M is the only company that market its MPR rating rather than MERV as the standard. You can check the pricing.MPR1000 = MERV11MPR rating with the higher number due to zeros is overrated.
